Body Image and Food

I teach individuals how to eat mindfully, stop yo-yo dieting and binge eating, and to build new coping strategies around food, body image and life in general. I understand the relationship between body image and food. Negative body image and destructive eating are sometimes symptoms of trauma, habit, family patterns, and greatly from our society and the media. I take great pleasure in helping people heal and get healthy from the inside out, which leads to them weighing their “natural weights.”

I am the founder and lead organizer of popular body image workshops to help women make peace with their bodies through powerful photographic images, understanding of the media’s influence, movement through dance, and other therapeutic tools. I arranged for the participation of Embrace filmmaker, author, speaker and body image activist Taryn Brumfitt, as well as world-reknowned therapeutic photographer Jade Beall.

I am honored to be a facilitator of the Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Program. I offer a 10 week program that has been clinically proven to stop emotional and binge eating utilizing both educational and therapeutic components You will learn how to eat what you love and love what you eat without rules or deprivation. It is time to break the Eat-Repent-Repeat Cycle and take charge of your life! For more information about the group, please visit the Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating tab under Groups/Workshops or contact me. I also offer this program to individuals working one-on-one at your own pace.
